My mom and son were in a car accident in the middle of April, and things have been a little crazy ever since. Luckily Jeremy wasn't seriously injured, but it was definitely scary getting that phone call. Some woman was nice enough to stop and let him use her cell, and while he was telling me how he was doing and about my mom injuring her arm, it suddenly occurred to me - "TELL THEM YOU HAVE A SEVERE BLEEDING DISORDER!!!!!" I yelled. Luckily my best friend's mom was one of the EMTs on the scene, so Jeremy said, "Oh, it's OK. Michelle's mom is here."

He only ended up with a pretty impressive bruise, but my mom dislocated her elbow so bad that the bone broke through the skin. She spent about 6 weeks with this massive contraption on her arm to keep it stabilized. It's off now, but the arm isn't back to normal yet (not even close).

The irony in all of this is that during the recovery, we found out that my mom has Factor V Leiden, which can cause the blood to clot TOO much. Now I'm waiting for my bloodwork to come back to see if I have it too. Can you imagine?
